Background
Known as the “Primate Capital of the World,” Kibale National Park is located in western Uganda. Covering 766 square kilometers, the park is a lush rainforest that hosts 13 primate species, including the largest population of chimpanzees in Uganda. It is also home to hundreds of bird species, butterflies, and unique forest flora.

Time To Visit
The dry seasons, from December to February and June to September, are the best for chimpanzee tracking, as the trails are less slippery and wildlife sightings are more frequent.
Accessibiity
BY ROAD: Kibale is a 5-6 hour drive from Kampala or Entebbe, passing through stunning tea plantations and rural landscapes. BY AIR: Domestic flights from Entebbe International Airport to Kasese airstrip take about 1 hour, followed by a 1.5-hour road transfer to the park.
