Lake Mburo National Park is the smallest of Uganda's savannah parks, covering 370 square kilometers in the western region. Despite its size, it is a jewel for wildlife enthusiasts, featuring zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and a variety of bird species. The park's five lakes, including the central Lake Mburo, add a serene aquatic element to its charm.
Why Visit Lake Mburo Park
Unlike other parks in Uganda, Lake Mburo allows guided walking safaris and horseback riding among the wildlife, providing intimate and eco-friendly experiences. Its proximity to Kampala also makes it an excellent stopover for travelers.
Time To Visit
The park is open year-round, but the dry seasons of June to August and December to February are perfect for game viewing and outdoor activities.

BY ROAD: A 4-hour drive from Kampala makes Lake Mburo one of Uganda's most accessible parks. BY AIR: Flights to Mbarara airstrip take about 1 hour from Entebbe, followed by a 1-hour road transfer to the park.
